Generally speaking, flat panel systems and later generation CCD systems produce generally comparable image resolution. Various vendors’ flat panel systems have different physical dimensions but they are all larger than that of the traditional film plate on the physician’s existing x-ray table, thus requiring significant modification or replacement of the table when converting to a digital flat panel system. Additionally, the flat panel lies directly in the x-ray beam. Constant radiation degrades the panel and leads to a shortened service life as opposed to Revo's CCD detector, which is protected from the x-ray radiation. Keeping consistent with our promise of quality systems, Revo2 does not sell anything other than CCD systems.
